Polling the voters
Zogby. AP. CNN. Statistics 101:”You can make any data say exactly what you want it to say.”
It is incredible to me just how poorly national surveys have performed, yet how often they are quoted by our mainstream media (MSM). Going to the source you choose for your information only reflects the beliefs you already hold. If you are Republican, you do have a wider array of selections, due to the fact that most MSM outlets are now owned by corporations…which are intrinsically interested in the success of the Republican Party. If you are a Democrat, liberal or progressive, your selections are fewer…but just as responsive to feeding your beliefs.
A bi-partisan interest in the direction of our country is pretty much an impossible belief to feed. The more “fair and balanced” is used as a self-identifier, the less it seems to exist in content. Republican elephant, democrat donkey, bi-partisan polar bear…
In the current race for the presidency, party of the least respected President we’ve had versus the party of one of the most popular personalities to appear in politics in decades, there SHOULD be a wide seperation in the polling numbers between our selections…just from a logical point of view. There isn’t. Neck and neck, they say. It makes me wonder, who are the people are they calling and what questions are they asking?
